Phone EXTREMELY slow after official manual 2.2 update

I updated my droid manually on the day the manual update came out and since then i've gotten an ota update but my phone is still extremely slow. Anyone having the same problems/know why this is happening?

What is slow? If you are talking about the home screen icons re-drawing when going from an app back to the home screen that is a known issue with the latest update. Try using a thrid-party launcher such a LauncherPro and checking the setting to keep it in memory. That should help. Also, if you are using any sort of Anti-Virus or Task Killer then stop doing so. They do not play nice with 2.2.

Another trick that can help--if it's a slow homescreen issue--is to install Spare Parts (free app) and adjust the Window and Transition Animations settings (try Fast or Normal).

I was having the same issue and Matt's suggestion of Spare Parts fixed the slowness. FYI - I set mine to Fast.

I think it would be wise to look at comments on spare parts before installing.....to each his own....risk.

No, I don't know why this is happening or how to fix. I'm on my third DX. The last one they sent me I took directly to Verizon and they programmed and installed update. It finally went through without getting stuck on the /\/\ every time I shut it down. And no, I wasn't root, Didn't have ROM's and I hadn't tampered with it.

So now my lockscreen is smooth but much slower. Text messages are all messed up. Volume goes to 3/4 of the way up on it's own, when I have it set at a 1/4. And internet is slower.

I'm not b!tch!n, just letting people know my issues. I would very easily downgrade to Incredible or go to the D2 at this point. Will wait and see if they have a fix update.

My X is suddenly dialing contacts VERY SLOW. I hit the icon to call someone or do voice dial and it takes 20-30 seconds to start the dialing of the number. Anyone else have this problem?
