phone not locking, soft home key no working

i recently purchased the motorola droid a few weeks ago and now all of a sudden, when i press the lock button, it blacks out normally and when i press it again, its not locked when it usually does. i tried everything on the phone to fix the problem and its not working.

also the home soft key doesnt work anymore for some reason. its still a brand new phone.

i just tried making my own unlock pattern and it still wont lock

same problem here. i ended up installing lock 2.0 on mine.

Do you have an Alternative Home on your phone (aHome, Home++, GDE, etc)?

My guess is the problem resides within the alternative home.

And if not, try a factory reset, batt pull perhaps, at least try a few things, then run it back to the store.
