Phone says 'Low on Space' and won't sync gmail, but it's not low of space...

Do you mean in the manage Alps section of settings? It says it will delete perm. I only have 2MBs of data there. Still a noob

Can one of you with the low space error try flashing this hotfix from HTC? It resolves the messaging / email / voice mail errors, but I did a factory reset on my wifes phone before the hotfix file, so Im not sure if it works for low space too.
Make sure you have allowed "Unknown sources" Form the home screen, menu > settings > applications > check unknown sources.
Download the file and transfer to your sd card.
Using a file manager (astro file manager is free and works well), install the file.
Did not work. Thanks anyway.

Thanks

Don't want to get in the habit of replying to my own posts, but I just "Clear data" for my Gmail app and the Low on space message went away, and I my Gmail recieved my recent messages... Maybe a short term work around till they fix the root cause.

Worked for me too! Thanks!

Mine has had same issues. I don't use the gmail but after the update my phone constantly says low space. Also now when I get a message while on a Bluetooth call it switches the audio back to the handset. All happened after the update. My phone worked great prior to update. Phone is not rooted.

SAME problem just happened to my Incredible yesterday and I have now eliminated apps and show plenty of storage space but that nasty little icon and message still there.

And not one word yet from the company? How do you spell customer service?

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread as my wife's phone started having the same problems. She is still getting gmail, but her texts aren't receiving.

I was told to delete some of my text messages... if you have too many it causes some memory storage problems. Seemed to work.

Your fix worked for me! I'm now getting the texts that piled up undelivered. Tried this once a few weeks ago also, but wasn't sure if this or something else I tried (deleting hidden files) did the trick. THANK YOU for sharing!

The thing that sucks is that I'll have to do it again in a month or so it seems. That iPhone4s is looking pretty good right about now.

Oops - the fix I'm referring to is the one above. Pay no attention to the noob :)

Having the same problem!! I hope someone comes to our rescue! My husband is rooting his this very moment. If it doesn't become a brick, we'll do mine. This really sucks.:icon_evil:

this is most likely the cause. everytime this happens to me, i delete all my txt/pix msg then it goes away. It's amazing how that takes up space. i deleted tons of apps and still got it. Once I deleted txt msgs. voila.

I had very few text messages - I delete them regularly (mainly so I'm not texting the wrong person accidentally, which I've done). I just installed the 'Android Assistant' - which is free, and cleared cashe and told it to clean up everything. The low space message is GONE and my email is now showing in the inbox. Fingers crossed, it will stay that way.

Been having same problems since the update - low space icon and no Gmail for periods of time = 2 weeks now. Originally, just clearing text messages worked, but only for a week or 2. Since then I've tried Cache Cleaners, History Cleaners, Task Cleaners/Stoppers, deleting seldom used apps, clearing text messages. Finally went app by app and when I cleared my data on Seesmic, the low space icon disappeared and my Gmails loaded. Love my Inc but can't wait to upgrade and be done with this SYSTEM problem that seems to mainly affect the Incredible.
