phonebook in car will not download

I have a 2010 Acura TL. My phone is paired, but I cannot import my phone book. It tries, but tells me a connection cannot be established. Is there something we are missing?? I called my saleman at the dealership and we even tried the store where I bought the phone, but no one knows what to do.
