PhoneMyPc- suggestions/comments/fix requests

My only suggestion is that you sell your remote cursor thingy to one of the browser developers;-)

When browsing websites and needing to click a very small link among many links (like the page numbers down in the lower right of this page) I find myself wanting to tap the magnify glass icon to switch to a pointer that i can control.

Ok I downloaded and bought PMPC and when I launch it on my laptop, I enter the username, pw, comp name etc.. I click OK then it just dissapears into bottom left of the comp task bar...any ideas?

ok I got it working and it works great.. is their anyway to type in an imput field on a program that you have launched?

You should be able to click on the chat box and start typing with the hardware keyboard. To type with the touch keyboard you have to press the menu button then select keyboard.

No, I can click in the chatline, and the cursor blinks, but when I type nothing comes up.. this is in interactive mode

Weird, swype doesn't s work for me when sliding but the hardware keyboard should work.

REQUEST:

Windows Media Center remote integration. I use this as my mouse/keys on my media center PC, it works great. I would love the hotkeys of media center be integrated in a visual format, it wouldn't be too hard.

I can not enter any text in any program. My keyboards, virtual and physical, are not recognized. Everything else seems to work fine.

I had same problem, do this, open physical keyboard, then the menu on keyboard, then A-Z keyboard .. that worked for me.

Sorry we've been missing for a few days; very busy getting ready for this next release.

If your keyboard doesn't work, there are generally two possible problems, in order of commonality:

1) Your software versions do not match
If you have udpated everything on the phone when you get the notifications, let's assume that's current. So, on the PC, double-click the PhoneMyPC icon in the system tray and verify that you have 1.0.16. If not, uninstall, download and re-install. Sorry for the need to do this; this will be fixed soon.

2) Permissions
On some Vista and Win7 PC's, certain applications run with elevated priveledges and PhoneMyPC cannot send keystrokes to them. To fix this, locate the two shortcuts on the Start menu, at:
* Start, Programs, SoftwareForMe
* Start, Programs, Startup

Edit their properties. Look through the tabs for the Advanced button. Click it, then select the "Run as Administrator" check box. This will also be fixed in the next build.

@Cowpoke: yes, uninstall (to flush that password, and all other settings), and reinstall.

@geckpeppers: Great idea! Well, I could go on for hours with our plans for things like this, but let's be brief: can you mock up or describe what you're imagining and email us? You'd be surprised how many of our customers use Media Center.

This program is a must have for me. I have to run some proprietary company software that will only run on a PC. This program means I no longer have to carry my laptop with me everywhere I go!! It's great.
