I attempted to Root my phone using the instructions from the SBF root & unroot thread & downloaded all of the ness. stuff like RSD Lite & when I attempted to flash RSD Lite SAID that it worked but when I attempted to create a nanodroid backup it did not work & I was not able to get back to my home screen it just showed no battery life & no reception & my background @ my locked screen when i unlocked the phone @ that point it said force close or wait .& If I did nothing it just rebooted & cont. in that cycle. So I went to SPRecovery & was told to download another ROM which i did however i already have a file on my sdcard named update ; I can't check what its for because I can't access it from my Droid. What do I do please help .

p.s. right now I'm at the SPRecovery screen where I am able to disable USBMass storage

Mount your phone to your computer. Delete or rename the existing update file then place the new update.zip on the root of your SD card then install

I picked install from sdcard & it says install blocked

then says installed aborted

then says installed aborted

Ok first off this is the epitome of "should NOT have rooted or attempted anything." Next time, don't do it.

That aside, you're on sprecovery, nothing is broken. Go to mount, mount your sdcard. Delete the file on it, and add the new file to the sd card. On the install screen, first press allow update.zip installation.here's your sign... :p lol from now on, know how to fix something before you do anything....

If u remember correctly there us an option in sp recovery that u need to select first to allow install of update zip. Someone correct me if I am wrong?

Kk, I got this :)

First off, do you want to continue on your path to being rooted? or would you at this time rather just go back to stock android?

If you would like to just go back to stock, start here:

http://www.droidforums.net/forum/rescue-squad-guides/39254-sbf-root-unroot.html

Scroll down and preform box option 5.

This will take you back to totally stock android 2.0.1. After this, just let the phone update itself back to 2.2 and you should be good to go :)

This guide here explains how to use RSD Lite correctly, just in case you run into any problems:

http://www.droidforums.net/forum/re...-using-rsd-lite-flash-sbf-file-correctly.html

Now, if you would rather continue trying to root your phone, then I suggest looking towards the part above. I highly recommend putting your phone back to the out of the box state and updating your phone back to froyo. This will ensure nothing goes wrong.. Look at the links above and preform box option 5 in the first link.

After this, we should reflash SPR. Follow this guide here to do so:

http://www.droidforums.net/forum/rescue-squad-guides/74028-root-droid-1-regardless-os-version.html

This will root give you SPR and root Froyo, giving you a rooted stock rom. From this point you should be able to apply a kernel or ROM of your choice.

K it worked thanx
