Please Help me Decide.... TB vs.......

The TB had tons of problens at launch that have only recently been fixed. If you get the vigor in October it might not work right till next march.

Some had problems, many didn't. I never had any of those issues

The only problem I had was battery. Mainly after using 4g for an extended time.
U can always just get the bionic...but then again it could be released in 2020 the way they keep delaying it

The thunderbolt is the way to go. I love mine. It is insanely fast with no lag and 4G LTE is fast. The battery isn't that bad and HTC sense is so great I love it so much better than Blur

TB is great. I love mine. To me Sense is the best, the others seem cheesy to me and that would keep me from waiting for the bionic. Tbolt gets a lot of complaints but I think there are just bad devices because I bought mine the day it was released and never had a single problem.

I started with the Droid 1 and was pretty happy. Then I got the Droid X and was introduced to MotoBlur. I didn't really like it after being used to "vanilla" Android, but, over time, I grew to like it .

I decided it was time to move up to 4G so I got the Samsung Droid Charge and its Touchwiz interface really made me appreciate Blur. Touchwiz is bad. Really bad.

So I returned the Charge and got the Thunderbolt (my first HTC) and haven't looked back.

For me, Sense is much better than Blur (even the updated Blur as on the Droid 3 and Bionic) . And Touchwiz isn't even in the same ballpark.

But, everyone likes different things, so you should try em all and pick what works for you.

Once you use 4g you'll never be able to go back. Root the TB and put liquid gingersense 1.4 on it to get great battery/stability/features. I can't say much about stock cause mine was unrooted for all of 30 minutes. I get 12 hours with this rom on 4g with every app syncing and running

Same here, my husband and I got ours the day it was released and our phones have been great. I took back the Droid x before my two weeks were up and we love our phones.

I agree it just seems like a lot because well if u have a problem ur gonna look for a place to complain nobody is gonna start a thread on how they have no problems lol.

Hello,

Yes Im sorry, this is ANOTHER thunderbolt vs X2 question, but I have my reasons.

In the next couple of weeks I am upgrading my phone from the OG droid.
I can't decide if I want the x2 or the thunderbolt. My brother just bought the x2, and he got a second x2 for free, that hes willing to give to me for only $100.

I have seen plenty of topics about people asking if they should get the Droid x2 or the thunderbolt.... The majority of them, did not have 4g in their area yet.

My predicament is this... I live right outside of Detroit, and we have 4g here.
Is 4g that big of a difference? is it worth it?

Also the locked bootloader of the x2, is a huge blow to me. As I have loaded a bunch of different custom ROMs onto my OG droid, and loved it. Im not sure if I could live with a locked boot. The fact that when Verizon stops the OTA updates for the x2, I won't be able to update to newer software with ROMs like I did with my OG droid, bothers me.

Is the battery life on the Thunderbolt really THAT bad?
To me it doesn't seem like it would be that big of a deal, I can get a replacement battery off Amazon for $7. Ill buy two more batteries, charge them every night, problem solved.

Really the only thing that I can see lacking is the battery, the better resolution on the x2, and the x2's dual core.

Do you all think I should get the TB, seeing as im in a prime 4g area, and I love the custom ROMs. Or should I go for the better resolution and the dual core....?

Or should I just hold on to the OG droid, and wait it out for the Vigor.... and just pray that it gets released before winter?

Thanks a lot in advance,

the tb is alot better than the x2 trust me and I'm not being byass. the thunderbolt runs alot smoother and 4g is ridiculous as long as you don't mind buying a few extra batterys. but if you root you can get good battery life. my thunderbolt last about 24 hours on one charge. the 4g is faster than my wifi. I've gotten 30 mbps before which is incredible. also the htc vigor is coming out aka the thunderbolt 2

to be honest, the resolution on the X2 is not anything to get excited about...go check out one in person. the pentile matrix screen absolutely ruins the screen. up and down lines look great, but once you see anything diagonal, it looks like poop. can't believe moto put those screens in their high end phones. they are terrible.

Duel core, the phones still lag on motoblur. my camera on my TB opened up about 3 seconds faster than the camera on the D3.

4G is amazing...i can't even imagine being on 3G again....woof.
if you dont mind carrying around extra batteries (or getting that huge extended battery) the TB is 10x the phone the X2 is. i am rooted and Rom'd and i can get 16 hrs on a charge if i try. but i have an extra battery, so it isn't a big deal to me. i went 13 hours on constant 4G with normal use.

Just took the plunge for the Tbolt yesterday... I was part of the masses waiting and waiting for the sick phones coming soon but decided that although dual core goodness will be where its at...I likely wouldn't need it. I was never torn between this and another phone currently out bc I just don't think there are any that truly compare. The X2 is a bit on the bulky side...the D inc2 was too small...the charge has those cheap looking buttons.

As far as aesthetics go, tbolt ftw. It feels good, its zippy, and the display is unreal coming from the OGD1.

I can see where battery would be an issue, since I've not rooted yet and after a full charge and light use I'm down to 70%. I'm not in 4G area....but the deciding factor for me was having root already available as well as
custom roms. I mean, once the new phones come out...if they're out on time, how long before the bootloaders unlocked and a good, solid selection of custom roms will be available? I just couldn't wait anymore. The D1 started having a major attitude on any Rom with any kernel...stuff that I've never had issues with before.

The other factor was that the 14 day return policy only applies if you return and cancel the upgrade altogether. If you exceed that window you have 30 days to exchange the phone. Considering that, I felt it was a safe bet to take the plunge.

I'm satisfied with that decision already, and haven't even rooted...

Hope that input helps.

you should turn off the 4g so the phone isn't constantly searching for it. it'll save a lot of battery trust me

So what does this "duel" core do? Do the cores fight each other, and have duals?

BTW, its just the camera app. My D3 flies compared to the TB.
