I've been looking for something like this as well. I guess that's yet another thing I liked about my blackberry. I think I had a few different custom "profiles" for various parts of my day. Night, work, car, meetings, etc...

I'm more than willing to pay for the development of an app to do that.

Did not find a reference to this app in the thread, at some point it was enhanced to allow creation of widgets for different presets, seems like it would cover what some people have been asking for anyway.

If your looking for app to try, give Smart Volume Control a try. I've been happy with it so far. It has all the features you're looking for.
