PLEASE HELP - Stuck at M logo

So, my replacement just arrive... It won't turn on with just my battery either. So yep, my battery is dead... But at least I have a way to charge it now. I'll charge it up and pop it back in my rooted droid and see if I can't get past that damn M screen. If I do, I'll just take it back to the store and hopefully just keep my old one...

Thanks for the popcorn... Well, with the battery at least partially charged and back in my old phone, the power button works and brings me to the M screen. I have held that x forever and nothing...

I connected it to my USB cable and fired up rsdlite, but it does not see the device. What am I missing?

rsd lite will not see the phone unless you are in the bootloader. That would be by holding up on the D pad and then powering on the phone while holding the power button down too. Up on the D pad meaning... upwards if the phone is held horizontally. If you hold the phone vertically (as I would ) you would push the D pad to the right.

You cant get into recovery mode because it's a new phone and you don't have a recovery on there yet. Without looking, that's my theory. I never tried to get into recovery until after I was rooted so I don't know for sure and I'll bet someone will be along soon to shoot my theory down.

I just found that info elsewhere and a newer version of rsd lite... reflashed sd recovery and am now able to get into sd recovery... WooHoo. about to reinstall UD eX8. but so far so good...

Ok, wiped data and cache, UD eXtreme 8 installed, just signed into Google... All is good.

Thank you everyone for all of your help. Now to take the replacement back to Verizon.

Im glad you got everything working....I also had the same problem....I was flashing something and didnt know my battery was almost dead. Well it died and I was stuck like you. After asking around on here I decided I would just take my battery into verizon. Told them I was stuck in the bootloader/Recovery (they had no idea what that was) Came back 2 hours later picked up my battery and viola! :icon_ banana:

Happy you got it working dancedroid

I hope your right as this exact same thing happened to me this morning. I was doing a restore and didn't realize my battery was almost dead and now am stuck on the white M boot screen and can't get any other screen to come up. When I plug the wall charger in the white M shows for 10 seconds then the battery status shows but has a question mark(?) inside it. I have had it on the charger for two hours but Nothing. Still a ? in the battery on the battery status screen. Will go to verizon and get another battery to have on hand just in case this happens again. I can't believe this is happening. And also I want to thank everyone on these forums for being so helpfull.

Hello guys... I am new to the Droid. I just got my phone about a week ago and successfully rooted it soon after. Once I had superuser running and my titanium backup going, I decided that I would do a nandroid back up using clockwork recovery and flash a new rom. Keep in mind that the only way I had accessed clockwork recovery is using the Rom Manager app, I had never done a battery pull and then whatever button combination it would be. The back up worked fine, then I went into the mount menu and manually formatted the system, data, cache and sd-ext. Right after I did this the phone just shut off! My battery had died... Ever since this all I have been able to do is boot up into the "M". Although sometimes I can press x and power and get into what seems to be the stock recovery program. So I guess my question is: Can I flash a ROM from the stock recovery, since I think that I lost the clockwork recovery? Also does it mean my phone is charging if the light next to where you plug it in is on ?

dancedroiddancedroiddancedroidThanks in advance for your help.

You have to sbf back to stock, reroot , and reinstall clockwork. never wipe/format anything unless its data or cache.
you should just flash roms using rom manager by going to install rom from sd card option and you will be prompted to wipe data and cache and back up rom after selecting the rom you want to install. just check both of the options and click ok and rom manager will take care of the rest.
hope this helps. luigi90210

That does help. Except, how do I sbf when everytime I actually get into the bootloader it says "battery too dead to program"? I live out in the boonies but I guess if I have to I will drive to a verizon store to have them charge my battery. I am about to just get a new one since I just got it a week ago but I would rather keep this one :icon_evil:

So you have been able to access the bootloader with out the battery? I have noticed mine stays on if I take out the battery while plugged in so I will have to try that... Ill try it real fast then let you know. I really appreciate your help guys. I would be way stoked to get my phone up and running tonight!

Yes sir. Even if I can figure out a way to get into the bootloader can I use RSD lite to program it again ?
