Actually, a lot of these shots appear to be 16x9. Just an FYI for anyone who might not know, you can go into your camera settings and change it to 8MP. This won't "fill the screen", but it's actually using the entire image sensor instead of just 6MP. I'd recommend that (stock settings have it in 16x9, 6MP mode).

The only purpose is so that the photo will fill the RAZR's screen (16x9). It basically crops the 8MP, 4x3 (I believe) image to a 6MP, 16x9 image.

6mp is for a widescreen picture. And 8mp is more squared.

Thanks for throwing that compro up there, wyld. All the 6MP setting is doing is cropping so that it fits the RAZR's screen. This really ought to have come with 8MP as the standard setting out of the box.

Now, 720p being the default for video as opposed to 1080p is another issue. I've found that my videos look better in 720p, so I left it at that setting as opposed to going to full bore 1080p (not to mention, at this quality level of hardware, the difference between 720p and 1080p isn't enough to justify the extra space 1080p videos take up).
