not trying to start anything but i highly doubt your over 10 miles from the tower because at that distance would would not even have enough signal to make a call or no signal at all.

Not to derail this thread, but I unfortunately have had to learn exactly where my vzw towers are. I have 5 vzw towers in the 6-10 mile range and I know the exact coordinates of each, since my highly directional antenna needs to be within 5 degrees for best reception. I love living in the country, but having to depend on 3G for all internet use is a little limiting.

Is data speed supposed to correlate with signal strength, becuase I have full bars and these are my results:

I retested with the Portland server for Cellular and actually did worse (Not sure why they are saying the Cellular tower is so far)

Droid Eris GPS

I hope I am not beating a dead horse, But my Dorid will only find it's location when I am standing in the Verizon store, I understand the an OTA is do to be released soon but with all the material i have read none of it actually come out a states that this is the GPS problem and it will be fixed. Can anyone shed some light on this.
The GPS buts me in India. I am a long way form home :)
 
To the above poster, I'm curious how that question fits into this thread's topic...

You may get better results by doing a search and then starting a new thread if you can't find an answer.
