I have just always called them crappie even from when I was little. Sometimes I'll forget they are actually called a perch if someone asks me what a crappie is I've called them that so long

@insidious: nice shot man is that on a lake or a bay from the ocean? Reason I'm asking is the water is so clear and calm it looks like a lake.

Also looks like OK is going to get some winter weather today and TX is going to get a little bit of much needed rain

Last I heard we are only getting rain in central OK today/tonight... but there is a good chance of snow next Sunday/Monday.... I'm hoping we get at least one good snow dump this season.

Well guys, ive been hiking so much that my body is in a constant state of soreness. lol, not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing. I have lots of pics, will upload them later on. The weather has been perfect lately, not hot nor cold. Needs to stay this way. :happy3: then again if it did i think my body would shut down. Lol, at minimum every weekend ive been hiking around 20miles. Might not seem like a lot but in the rocky mountains that is quite the feat. Lots of free climbing and whatnot as well.

We're finally supposed to get some snow tonight...about time...spring is just around the corner and we've only had snow 3 times in ct and one was in october! How you doing chevy?

Its part of a creek that leads into the Potomac River, which seperates Virginia and Maryland. Very cool place to live.

@ILMG: A little soreness after a long hike means a hard fought but successful hike. I wish I had a beautiful place to hike around here in Eastern NC. A lot of land around here is private/posted. To get a 20M hike in I would have to travel up to the Appalachian Trail in Boone, NC (about a 4hr drive maybe 3-3 1/2 if i'm heavy footed haha). I do love to hear the exhaust on my 350 Vortec I hope to do some hiking on the Trail this summer/spring. Props to you though for completing the 20M hike every weekend. Good to see an avid hiker and outdoors man. Also looking forward to the pics

@Red: Congrats on finally getting some winter weather :biggrin: I'm kinda losing hope for NC to get snow but I'm looking forward to the upcoming fishing and hopefully some hiking like ILMG up there haha. Anyway I am doing pretty good now that work is picking back up in landscaping. Winter time gets kinda rough money wise when grass doesn't grow and the hours you work every week go down. Family is doing pretty decent for the most part also. How are you and your folks doing?

@Insidious: How is the Croaker fishing up that way? I have never really fished that hard outside of NC except for when the croakers are running in Chesapeake and Portsmouth VA.

@Truss: Did any winter weather ever happen to come your way? Hope everyone is doing good

@CJ: How are you and the family doing man. I have seen y'all have been getting quite a bit of rain lately

Only got an inch in southern ct....we are northern ct near hartford. All my snow phobic friends are happy though! Well better luck next time.

Might get a surprise snow dump in Feb but it will def be a surprise.

The current conditions here are windy and kinda chilly. Wind chill really lowers the temps

We ended up with a light dusting last night.... maybe an inch and a half. The temp never really pushed below 31/32 so it's mostly just snow/slush and makes for a crappy drive to work.

@truss: I hope it looked better falling than it did on the road going to work haha. I also like the dry powdery snow too cause it is a lot nicer to drive and play in. Plus it doesn't soak you as bad when it's falling

Looks like TN, Eastern MO, Southern IN, and parts of Western KY might be in for a snowy/sleety night. Everyone be safe out there

AL and MS are going to be in for a rainy night. At least the sound of the rain will make for good sleeping
