Pre-order on site, pick up at store?

Pre-order online and you have to wait for it to be delivered. I believe you can sometimes call the stores and have them hold one for you, but this is on a case by case basis I imagine.

Ugh, guess I gotta call the store then. I'm trading in my iphone 4 at the verizon store to use the store credit for the Nexus purchase.

why trade and let verizon make money on you

Trading at Verizon lets them make money off of you coming and going. Put a decent price on it and craigslist it and you will get way more. Even fleebay after all the fees you will make minimum of $50 more than verizon trade.

example iphone 4 16gb at verizon trade is $150. Ebay $280 is the going price. if you put it on craigslist you will sell it in less than a day if you price it at $250. Just an example. Ill give you $150 for a working iphone 4 today. Sure my wife would like it.

Getting $50 extra after going through the cluster-f of listing it on ebay and craigslist (and all the scam emails that go with it) isn't near worth the convenience of just trading it at the store and using the credit right then and there for the purchase.

I didn't run and I knocked twice

Amen to that brother.

So wait... Would it be better to preorder it online or wait in line at the store?
I live in NYC so I imagine lines are going to be long but I was planning on getting there at 9am. Picking it up in-store is faster too I imagine.

Sent from the future to annihilate you

I can't speak for your location, since it's obviously more populated than mine, but I imagine you could pick one up no problem if you get there when they open.

As with a higher population, they'll usually get more stock in.

I'm curious as to how pre-orders work with these things. Would you get the phone the same day it's released or... the day after because shipping is slow or...? I really don't want to rely on my (unreliable...) UPS/Fedex/USPS guy to get here... at whatever time he feels like... while I sit at the door all day... and everyone else is basking in the pure awesomeness of their Sexus.

Then again, what if I stand in line all day in front of Verizon and they sell out because 500 people decided to "camp out" in front of the store 2 nights before the phone's release :( That would mean waiting 3 more weeks for the stores to restock, at which point I would just decide to stand on the highway yelling at an 18-wheeler to Come At Me Bro ...

....decisions, decisions....

I've never per-ordered a phone, but I know people who did so for the Bionic and they all got their Bionics 2-3 days after the release date.

You aren't going to see people camping out for this phone, it's going to be very popular for sure, but because Android has so many phone releases, it splits up the customer purchasing dates.

Oh whew, thanks :D I'm definitely going in-store then ^.^

I ordered my Bionic from Verizon over the phone and it was here the next business day so if a pre ordered phone would take longer then what is the point? When you pre order something you should get it on the day of the release, that's how it should work. I've never pre ordered a phone so I'm inexperienced in that department but when I pre order video games they usually ship it(to me or the store I pre ordered from) a couple days before the release to get it to me the day of the release. I can't see how it would be any different for a phone. Now I don't know whether to pre order the G-Nex or wait to order it over the phone day of the release or go to the store. ARGGGGHH! :icon_frown:
