Problem loading UD 2.0

Has anyone had a problem installing UD 2.0? I am getting an error from SPR saying that the update.zip file is bad. I have downloaded it twice now with no luck.

Make sure the size of the file is complete. Sometimes downloads get cut off before they actually finish.

I downloaded the file from two different links and both files completed their download. I also verified that the checksum on both files match, so I don't believe that is my problem.

How are you installing? I know you have SP Recovery but are you renaming the file to update?

Oh yeah. I've checked all the obvious issues. Did a wipe before the attempting install and everything. I can open the zip file and look at the contents on my computer so I don't believe the file is corrupted. I also verified that the checksum of the file is the same once a copied it to my SD card and rename it to update.zip. I didn't have any problem with UD 1.0 or the older 8.0 or any of the other ROMs I have tried. This is the first time.

Guess perhaps I am the only one...

I know this is going to be a dumb question, but your not putting .zip when renaming the file correct?

Nope. update.zip

sometimes people rename it "update.zip" and the phone will see it as update.zip.zip and it causes errors. That's why i was asking if you were putting .zip when renaming the file. Rename it update only. don't put .zip

Oh, I understand what you are saying, the file is named update.zip - SPR just doesn't seem to like it on my phone.

I just downloaded it again, from the Ultimate Droid website and from the link provided on this forum. Everything still matches up. The size of the file that I've got is 81741575 bytes and the checksum (using /usr/bin/sum) is 34952 79826.

Can anyone verify that I've got the correct file?

This is what I am seeing when I attempt to install it

Welcome to SPRecovery, Use the volume up and
down bittons to move between meny options, the
camera button to select them, and the power
button to back out of a menu.

I'm downloading the zip file from UD web site. File size is 78MB... I will try to upload it here once it's done.

Edit: Sorry VingInMedina... i didn't know there's a limit of 9 MB to upload. File name should read like this ultimate_sholes-ota-eng.blackdroid

VingInMedina both files are the same size (78MB) from DF and UD site. I hate to say it's your phone. Have you tried using CW?

First off, let me correct my past failure, by starting off with a thank-you. The great thing about this forum is the way that people will step up to help.

Well, I am with you in believing that it is my phone.

I just tried to load Liquid 4.9 and I got the same error.

I am currently running SimplyStunning 4.9, so I am going to restore the Ultimate Droid 1.0 backup that I have and see if I can install once that is in place.

If that doesn't work, then I am going to assume that somehow the SPR image on the phone has been corrupted.

If that is the case, I am thinking that I will probably need to go all the way back to stock (by using RSD to flash the MC1_A855_1282081087_Recovery-Only_SPRecovery_0.99.3b.sbf file) and then going through the process to root the phone.

Or do you think that is overkill?

Edit:
Ok, I restored the backup that I had of Ultimate Droid 1.0, which was on the phone when I flashed the SimplyStunning 4.9 ROM. Same issue.

Thank goodness for backups! At least I have a working phone. :-)

So you are back to running UD1.0?
