There are 2 settings in ROM Manager, Droid X and Droid X 2nd init. I chose 2nd init since I was on CM7. Well, it installed the gold one and I can't get the old green one to stick. I have half a mind to sbf and then start over lol

I usually use Koush's bootstrap to boot into recovery always get the green cw.

Yeah, you can't use that with CM7 or any of the other 2nd init ROMs.

Yeah, it can only be used on froyo roms and roms based off the gb leak. 2nd init roms (like those mentioned above) either have cw built in to the power down menu or use rom manager to access it.

I see...is there any method to root the current ota gb or is it still un-rooted?

It's still unrooted, but you can dl and install the rooted gb leak (same build) from team black hat.
