Problem with editing files in SD card

So, I can't create folders, delete folders, or delete files with astro file manager in my SD card. I've tried another SD card with the same results. I can connect my phone to the PC and edit files that way, but that's the only way I can do it. Anyone know what might cause this problem?

*edit* I guess I should add that I've already formatted my SD card a few times.

when you select a file try holding your finger on it until a window comes up and then click edit and if that doesnt work try using estrongs file explorer
