Problem with virtual keyboard

I have been using my droid touch phone for about two months and yesterday, I started having a problem with the virtual keyboard. Anytime I use the virtual keyboard, it will initially pop-up but after I write one or two letters it will immediately close. If I try to open it again, it will open then proceed to immediately close again. As it stands, I am unable to type anything into my phone. Has anyone encountered this same problem? Any possible solutions?

Are you rooted And running s rom? If not then I would take it back bc it's broke lol if you are rooted And running a rom u might have got a bad download
