Problem with Wifi Tether for Root Users

I've tried the Wireless Tether for Root Users and Barnacle Apps and both start to connect and will only download .4kb to my phone(.38 according to Barnacle) and then it stops. Also I have a minimum 3 bars of 3G signal during these attempts. Was wondering if maybe there was a known issue with this.

So your PC connects to your phone fine, but once you try and do anything, no data will flow to/from phone/PC/Internet?

Actually my pc nor any other wifi devices I have will even see it to connect. I've played with just about every setting in both apps I can.

I have had this exact same problem. Best I can tell reboots usually fix it, but I have no idea why this occurs.

My phone is also having this problem with wifi tethering, my computer will connect to my phone and my phone shows the connection but i can't use the connection on my pc for internet access...

Same problem here. The wifi hotspot in the Settings results in "error", the wifi tether app shows up on other computers but none are ever able to get an IP, and barnacle wifi tether (app) has an error message that says "cannot bind to port, unable to get DHCP [something]". Troubleshooting always says to reboot but this has never worked for me since upgrading to Froyo 2.2.

same here. original droid, I recently updated 2.2.1, rooted, have had some unsimilarities with results of processes but was able to complete most things except custom roms. Wifi signal is brodcasted and is detected by other devices however the data transfer is halted as can been seen it starts broadcasts around .9 kb and slows. Any luck at all with this?
