Ok so i heard about the new update for my thunderbolt so i went to the check update thing and sure enought it had something... When i downloaded it it just finished and didnt do anything els or restart like it said it would. So i manualy restarted my phone and it came up with another notification so i hit yes and it went to the thing with the yellow sync thing and the loading bar... That finished and i think it restarted 2 times... But when i go to phone info it says im still running 2.2.1 i dont know if that means it didnt complete the update or what? If anyone knows how i can fix this please tell me

Thanks,
Tony

Also when i use google earth the circle that shows where i am is HUGE and yesterday it told me i was in D.C. when i was in oregan... It seems like the dot in the center is fairly close but the big circle is like 2x the size of LA.

Hey

Just did the update yesterday its a small fix for random reboots, 3g and 4g issues and gps fix it does not update the android os thats why its still on 2.2.1 we are all waiting for GB

Go to menu > settings > Software update > status if you just did it should show it if you restarted since then it wont you can also hit check new if you fear it did not install and if it didnt it will redownload hope that helps, I just changed from OG droid now on the thunderbolt dancedroid

Well it did t fix random reboots... It got alot worse for me... It has rebooted like 5 times yesterday and 3 of then was when i was typing a txt msg...

And in the status thing it says verizon wireless for souce but all the others are blank

No, not unless you're rooted but here's how it works: Contacts are backed up by Gmail. Your SD card is not affected. Your apps will restore when you sign back into Google.

Now for most people the apps will start downloading and installing on their own. Even the free apps. But I can't guarantee that will happen, the worst that will happen is you'll go to the Market/my apps and then download your paid apps. You may have to restore the free ones manually.

Last time I did it everything restored except for 5 or 6 free apps and I just went and got them when I needed them. Oh and if you used an off market .apk you will have to manually restore that.

Ok and all pictures are stored on the sd card correct?

Yes, you won't lose your pictures. Someone told me once that they said a warning popped up saying it will clean the SD card. I won't say that didn't happen but I've never seen it. So if you see that warning ignore it. If you want to be extra safe, mount the phone to your computer and make a copy of the SD card.

I will just take the sd card out before i do it

The phone doesnt need to sd card to operate... It is just added memory
