Thunderbolt crashing after 2.2.1 update HELP!!!!

so do i need to back up my tb before doing it or will i not lose all my stuff. also my firmware version is 2.2.1 so this is probably going to be an issue isnt it... anything i can do

2.2.1 looks like your Android version.. rooting files should be up to date Devs are pretty good about that. Read full rooting guide. There you will find the info you need. You will lose all data 1st time. Theres Titanium Backup you can download off the market you can backup all your apps. theres also sms backup apps you can use to backup messages. Once you phone is rooted you can go to market and download backup app used to backup to restore your apps. When you start restore process dont restore data. Restore data ok when youre updating a rom you wer currently using.
