Problems with new gallery

Since the update when I take pics, it takes forever for them to show up in the gallery. Sometimes when I open the gallery it just sits there and won't open the pics....any ideas?

Me too!! I have to re-open the Gallery 2 or 3 times for it to show the new pics.

Am I the only one who hates the new Gallery? Cool special effects, but SLOW!

yeah its rather slow. It only hangs on the loading screen when I just put ALOT of pictures/videos on it, and it has to process them all.

And recently, something corrupted my photos (I won't blame the Gallery yet), but in the old OS I never had anything corrupt my SD card before. And it was only the photos it corrupted - nothing else!!

Luckily, I found out about GetDataBack which worked EXCELLENT to recover my corrupt photos!

My husband's DROID is doing the same thing with his gallery. It takes a really long time to get the pictures to it. Mine, seems to be working fine. Nobody knows what the problem is?

Its quite frustrating. I don't have to take a lot of pics either...just snap one on the fly and try to send it to a friend....and its a crapshoot whether it will work or not.
Same with attaching images to email....sometimes it freezes up the gallery, sometimes it doesn't load the newest pic(s). Pretty frustrating to get an "UPDATE" that is worse than what it replaced.

Having the same problem with new pics not showing up right away. Anybody else open their gallery and it's empty? It's happened to me several times and a reboot brings it back but how cool do you look when you have to reboot your phone just to show somebody a pic??

So far I've found that killing the gallery task and then re-opening will get new pics to show up. it seems it only indexes the new pics upon startup. It would be nice if it at least had a 'refresh' button.

Kill gallery app then use SDrescan from the market. Rinse and repeat if still not working.

My droid has the same problem, but I just open the camera and then try the gallery again..... normally it works. Wishing there was something to fix it.

Usually/Always if I give it a minute after taking a picture, it'll show up in the gallery. SDrescan has also seemed to do the trick. However, if pictures seem to never show up in the gallery, a factory reset might be the solution for you.

I'm having similar issues and more.

Yes, I like the new gallery and am impressed by it's use of my GPS to list photos by date and location, and, yes, there is a noticeable delay in the gallery's thumbnail updates, but I have a bigger problem...

My gallery is showing files that are no longer on the SD card, anywhere, and, no, I'm not talking about Picasa files. Most notably are my movie files. When I go into my Movies folder, I see files that I know I removed, can even select them to play, but then, of course, get a blank, black screen since it can't play a file that isn't there. Also, the folder doesn't show new files that I manually transferred there (mp4 format).

I've tried restarting and I've navigated around on my SD card, looking for any obvious or weird problems that might be easily corrected. No dice. I'll try the suggestion from a few posts back and let you all know if it helps.
