must...wait...for...LTE....cant...spend...money...again.......

gorgeous phone, trying to resist

Im already hooked on it and ill be getting it in 2 days =]

Although it looks like a great device I'm forcing myself not to buy anything that doesn't at least have 2.2 on it.

Why does it not come with android 2.2 instead of 2.1, also wonder if they will include avatar like t-mobile did but probably not. My coworker got one and the video quality is nice.

I just received my Droid X, & as I was @ my local Verizon store ordering my replacement Droid X, due to the fact the 1 they sent me randomly rebooting itself really got tiring after just 3 days of un boxing it. Well they had the Fascinate in stock & got to play with 1! This phone looks & feels bad ass! Its very quick & the screen is bad ass! I didn't even noticed a difference in the cameras, although I did notice the video recording is better on the fascinate! The only thing that worries me is how is Samsung, going to be with the updates? An the phone itself only has 2gb on board memory!

Why the problem with only 2GB on board memory? Its only used for apps and what not and there are so few that are large in file size. Plus with 2.2 allowing apps to be put on SD cards, that is practically not a problem anymore.

Did you return your DroidX for the fascinate? I love my DX. I'm going to start doing some comparisons with my wife's iPhone 3GS and my DX's pictures. I have a feeling the DX does much better pictures outdoors in bright light but the iPhone 3GS does better indoor/low light pictures. It bugs me only because the camera helped sell me on the DX. My wife is having a baby next month and I hate having to run and grab the camera when I have my phone on me all the time.

Exactly my thoughts.

No sense in buying a device that's already behind....

From the above link to the engadget review:
"The phone does not use Google as its default search. And it doesn't utilize Yahoo! either. No, the Fascinate search engine defaults to Bing. Bing is used for the homescreen widget. It is defaulted to in the browser. It is present across the device... and there's no way to choose a different search engine. Like, you know -- Google. When we pressed Verizon reps about this, they let us know in no uncertain terms that the stock engine is Bing without a second choice."

Let me see if I have this right. This phone is running a Google OS and it forces me to use Bing as my search engine. :icon_eek:

No I didn't return my X, just wanted a replacement. They ordered me a another new one and should get here soon. Although 2.1 let's us put applications on the SD card, it only allows you to do it with certain applications and even then you will lose the opportunity to run a widget if it has one.

Yes that to me is very odd. I'm not against Bing like them, but obviously you want to use google since it runs with everything else.

Sorry If this has been asked before or is common knowledge. I have a droid 1 so I have never been bothered to research. But do the samsungs come with locked bootloaders? Are they locked down phones?

If they are then I will pass but if they are open it might be worth my time. I have heard good things about the hummingbird chipset and the samsung screens.
