Purchased a maxx at a corporate store today. Won't be shipped until 3/13

My best guess is that he was hoping he could convince you to buy the Razr bc he had that in stock and is harder to get rid of whereas the Maxx is in such high demand that they can't keep up with production and it has been on backorder. I suppose it is possible that the Maxx takes longer to charge but it is a much more powerful battery lasting many hours longer on a singe charge so it makes sense that it should take longer to charge.

Yea, i definitely had the impression right away he was trying to push to make a sale for the std Razr. I just got done researching on other forums & there was no mention of charging issue. I did mentioned to my wife who was next to me that the slow charging was probably because of the massive capacity. I'm sure he must'be heard. Don't know, maybe i looked dumb enough to him to pull this stunt.

Agreed.

Best phone I've had yet. Had the Nexus (5 hr battery / weak or no signal) for a week, but returned it for the Maxx.

Very Happy now.

Actually like the older software better than ICS.

The corporate store had none in stock, so went across the street to a non-corporate vendor and they had a shelf full.

No doubt he was embellishing the "long charging" issue. It's obvious that the MAXX will take longer to charge, but most people charge overnight so that wouldn't typically be an issue. Also, if you power down the phone before charging, it completes in only a few hours (from 15% to 100% should take about 4 hours). Finally, partial charges are actually better for the battery and will result in a longer life of the battery overall.

Same here. I had the Gnex for about a week. Nice phone but I could not deal with the HORRIBLE battery life. I even purchased the extended battery. It helped a bit but the battery lasted no where near to what my Maxx does.

I finally received my maxx yesterday. So excited but it did lock up on me and I had to call verizon from my old phone. Didn't know you could dial *611 from a unconnected phone.

Had to hold the power button and the down volume key to reboot. Be nice if they put that info out there since you can't pull the battery.

Love the phone. So happy I waited for this one.

I just got my delivery notice. Ordered on the 16th, was scheduled to ship before the 21st. Website now shows new orders will ship by the 26th. It unfortunately looks like they labeled it to ship to my house instead of my work, which is an inconvenience. Will confirm tomorrow if that is true or not.

Okay folks...I have my Maxx in hand and I am loving it! I purchased/ordered on March 13th, received shipping confirmation a few days later saying it would arrive on the 20th and by golly gee it did!

I am going to have to search though about installing apps...I installed Light Flow Free, but kept getting an error that it could not install; however overnight Maxx changed his mind and the app intalled. Do we have a thread about app installation in general, or something specific about Light Flow and the customization the app provides?

In love with Maxx,
MommaDroid

So I did get my Maxx in yesterday, but unfortunately I didn't get a sim card with it so I had to go to the corporate store and get one. While I was there, the guy helping me was in shock that I was able to get one since they are on back order. He actually said, "wow, they must be getting faster." Anyways, I love this phone. It's the phone I have been waiting for. It's quick, powerful, has a huge battery, sleek, thin, and did I mention that it has a huge battery? I would definitively recommend this phone to everyone.

Finally ordered today, for my wife. Online yesterday showed will ship by 3/21, so today it showed 3/26. I called, made the deal, & asked about availability. She said she can ship latest tomorrow. Said online sales use different inventory location than telephone sales. Couple hrs ago just got an email confirmation it's shipping. Wife happy. Wish i get one, but apparently even with upgrade available it will still cost me $299. She upgraded from LG Envy & somehow got $30 off discount.

Maxx received. Setting up with issues so far. Pretty freaking sweet!

You mean without issues? Lol. My replacement maxx should ship tomorrow and arrive on Tuesday. My original maxx has the faulty external speaker issues that others have also reported.

Ordered mine this afternoon. I took advantage of the free "heavy 3g data users" promotion that's going on in certain areas, so I'm getting it for just the flat $20 upgrade fee. Pretty sweet considering I'm in a non-congested rural area and use about 6-8gb a month. I had to go through two people on the phone to place the order. The first one didn't know how to place the order with it being back-ordered, so after calling a few stores, I called them back and got someone to put it through. No idea when I can expect it. Didn't even receive a confirmation e-mail but it went through at least. Ready to throw my buggy Droid X out the window.

For those that have recently ordered through phone, she did say that things are starting to get caught back up, but couldn't offer an estimation on delivery. Anyone else receiving estimated times through phone from March 22 and later?

Walked into a store and purchased mine. Walked out with it in my hand. All of the stores in my area were sold out. Was out of town visiting my mother-in-law, happen to pass a Verizon store, so I thought I'd stop. I got lucky and they had one left.
