[Q] About .906

I was part of the soak and think the update is, overall, very good. The only problem I get now is that sometimes my wallpaper reverts either back to a stock one, or If I have a live wallpaper it'll revert back to a picture I previously put. It's only happened 2 times since the update and it usually fixes itself (without a reboot) after a little.

Other them that, phone is faster/snappier and the camera is WAY better.

Sleep mode still isn't working correctly for ne either. No battery pull, but does reboot more often than not when coming out if sleep mode.

My phone actually froze the other day. It never really did that before. I'm disappointed in this update. I personally don't see any improvement. No noticable difference in the camera app, I don't use sleep mode so I can't comment on that, and I don't see anything changed besides added bloatware and different system version. I'm very dissapointed. Within the next few weeks I'm definitely going to flash a custom ROM. What are the best Gingerbread ROMs avaliable? I don't want an ICS ROM because of the codecs and better camera functions.

I think that I like Eclipse best, though lots of people like Maverick. Liberty is also not too bad. I'm not a huge fan of Steel Droid 4.5 or Dark Droid; I think that most people that try to theme a ROM do so in a way that is worse than stock (hence why I don't much like Maverick.)

All just my opinion, of course.

I was actually thinking of SD, but I might look into Eclipse and possibly Maverick. I don't care too much for full on themed ROMs either. I prefer ROMs to have the theme chooser engine, honestly, that allows me to choose a theme without having to flash a completely different ROM or reflash the same one, which means having to wipe things.

was hoping this update would fix the issue of my phone not waking up from a simple screen off. not sleep, just screen off, but not more than an hour after updating I had to pull the battery. This has almost gotten me in trouble before, as my phone is my alarm, and it didn't go off, but I have a backup alarm. Good old battery lcd alarm that has been with me to Iraq twice.

and again just now...

I recommend an app called memory usage plus. It can kill all the phones activity when the screen goes off. That's what I use and it saves battery and kills whatever problems that may acure while sleeping.

You should exchange this phone with Verizon. You're still under the years manufacturer warranty (because the phone came out in July 2011). This is not the normal behavior for this phone.
