question about sms app?

i installed the handcent sms app and when i did it work great. but i wanted to know when you send a text threw there it comes in also with sms message. how do you stop it so it just goes threw the app i have than both

Open up the messaging program that comes with the phone.
Hit the menu button, then settings.
Uncheck the options: auto-retrieve and notifications

that should make it so only handcent sms works. I have handcent sms and love it.
