yes you should be able to sbf back from this particular release since the bootloader has not changed.

The boot loader did change and like he said you can SBF back. P3Droid tested it

This isn't the official gingerbread ota, yes you can go back.

I have SBF'ed back from 4.5.588 to froyo and used redid the whole process of using z4root, droid 2 bootstrapper (per p3droid) and installed 3 part file system all worked great and running rooted 4.5.588.

and about the this not being the official OTA i called verizon and they assured me that google is pushing update and this is the real gingerbread.
