Question using Handcent

Is there a way to have only one text notification pop up? It gets rather annoying to have two notifications go off for one text message. I tried looking in my settings but every time it still shows up as 2 notifications, the stock Android messaging software and Handcent. any thoughts?

Turn off notifications in your stock messaging app.

Get into the stock messaging app and turn off the notifications, that should take care of it and you should only get the handcent notifications.
