QuickOffice Pro for Android is free today only (11-14-11)

I had to go in and change 1-click payment settings to get it to work, but I've got it now. :)

Yep. I had to do this as well. I was wondering why it wouldn't work for me at first, but then I just enabled one-click and added a valid payment method and it downloaded right away.

Two things you want to make sure of if you've never used Amazon to download apps.
1. Make sure you have an Amazon account first and foremost and that your payment information is correct/up-to-date otherwise the purchase/download process will fail every time as it did me until I checked.
2. Download the Amazon App Store for Android APK from their site, not Amazon Apps or whatever from the Market - I got that and it still told me to go get the other one.

After that, downloaded and installed fine. As I pointed out, I don't ever use Amazon for apps, so I'd have probably never seen this. Good lookin out indeed Shadez!

I can't get it to download on the Bionic. Other apps work fine. Maybe it's the fact that the Bionic already comes with a version on it??
No it should work. I downloaded it on my Bionic. I just had to make sure 1 click payment for my credit card was working on Amazon.

I got it to work. I've had 1-click setup forever, but something had changed with it and I don't know why. I just went in and added a different card and set it as the default and it was good to go.

OP, thanks for the tip. I just downloaded it and tried it for a few minutes. I have had Documents to Go for almost 2 years. Got it for $10. The one thing that it allows that Quickoffice Pro does not seem to allow is password protected documents. At least Quickoffice Pro gave me an error message when trying to open a password protected Excel file. On another Excel file that Documents to Go has no problem with, Quickoffice Pro gave me a message that "sheet type is not supported". I'm not sure what the problem was, as it did open the file. I also haven't found how to zoom to get more data on the screen, but perhaps I just don't know where to look.

Wow! Thank You so Much!! I have the version that came with Bionic and my Samsung 10.1 Tablet and was seriously considering buying the Pro.... FREE is Awesome!! As an accountant I get excel sheets sent to me quite often now I am able to veiw them where ever I am and not have to wait till I get home!

:in love::big smile:

edit: I downloaded it to my Bionic but it is not compatible with the Samsung 10.1 Tablet which is strange because it came with the same starter version that the Bionic came with ?

I have to say, I thought this was a gimmick or BS. But I have to say thanks! Appreciate the tip! I'm rocking a full version of pro for free. :)

Did you download the separate "hd" version that's for tablets?

You're welcome! And yes it's free too for all who have an android tablet. And even if you don't, "buy" it on your computer since it's free and just in case you ever get an android tablet. I know I just "bought" it myself even though I don't have a tablet...yet. Free is free in my book so that's why I got it even though I don't have a tablet.

Check to make sure you have 1 click payment active for your amazon account.

For those of you who are brand new to the Amazon app store, they give away a different app every day. Most of them are paid-for apps and you have to check every day but amongst all the worthless pebbles is the occasional sparkle of gold. A couple of months ago, I got the Thumb keyboard for tablets for free. The very first free app was Popcap's "Plants Vs. Zombies" which is a fantastic game.

A week or two ago they gave away thumb keyboard for phones as well so there are some goods apps. I usually pounce one the ones where the app was over $5 but they're giving it away for free.

I missed this FAOTD; must have been snoozing. Lol.
How does this compare with the other similar FAOTDs: OfficeSuite Pro, and Documents To Go Pro?
