Razr 16 gb vs. Razr 32gb

Is there much difference in the Maxx vs. Razr other than the battery? Trying to keep up with Technology will have me broke, Lol....I just want to upgrade to a better phone than the Droid X. The Razr caught my attention. Have you experienced data dropping alot?
The primary difference between the Maxx and the Razr is the battery. Yes, I have experienced data drops, but then most 4g phones on Verizon seem to be experiencing the same thing. There is much agreement that the data issue is as much, maybe more, a network problem than a phone problem. I personally think it is a combination of Motorola "tuning" the antenna system/radios and software to 4g/3g and Verizon making needed adjustments to their very new LTE network. I believe that with the upcoming updates to the phone and Verizon continuing to fine tune their network that these data drops will go away...I got my fingers crossed anyway.

My understanding, and comparing them on Motorola's site, is only the battery is different. If there's a data drop problem I think they'll all have it.

I have occasionally had to toggle my data, which to me has not been a big deal. It is a computer after all, and technology things get jammed up from time to time.

Hmm, something's not right they both have 16 and 16? So they do take away the 16gb external card?

The 16GB RAZR looks like the best deal @ $199 since you can use your old Droid SD card or buy a new one (16GB or 32GB) cheaper than $100.

I suspect both the 16GB ($199) and 32GB ($299) version will go down in price next week when the Maxx is released.

The Maxx will have 32MB Ram and a larger capacity battery for the same price.

Almost right, the Maxx will hvae 1GB RAM and 32GB storage (16GB internal, 16GB SD card).

What I don't understand is how approx double the battery can give you sooooo much more talk time? 750 min vs over 21 hours? Does the screen on make that much of a difference? So for things where you use the screen (email/text/forums/web, etc.) you would presumably get "only" twice the time? Personally, actually talking is the thing I do least on my phone so that's the statistic that means the least to me.

The Maxx gives 85% more battery with 68% more talk time. So it doesn't sound like the 3300 mAh battery is giving anymore efficiency than the 1780 mAh, but about 17% less per mAh.

If I get the Razr (16gb for $199 can I put the 16 gb SD card from my Droid X in the Razr? Or would you hold out for Maxx? Whats your opinion on it?

The 16GB RAZR @ $199 with your own 16GB SD card would be a great deal, especially if you have a $50 discount.

Personally, I love my RAZR and the battery works great for me. I'd rather keep the form it has than have the added thickness and weight. Some people say it's only 1.9 mm added depth, but the RAZR is the longest and, slightly, widest phone out there as is; but it makes up for it by being the thinnest and lightest phone.

So, up to you. I know I'll be buying another RAZR next month, and most likely it'll be the original RAZR. I'm just not sure what color. hmm...

Why are you buying another Razr next month? What kind of plan are you on? Lol.....

Are you going to get the Razr Maxx or still go with the original Razr? A better battery does sound pretty good so I will wait n see. Thanks for all your helpful input.
lol I'm on the "upgrade every 3 month" plan. jk :p

My wife's upgrade is due next month. Mine was due this month but I NEEDED an early upgraded in Nov

Just to clear the air, there is only one model of RAZR. There are not separate models for a 16GB and 32GB version. The RAZR has 16GB of on-board storage, and there is an option to purchase one with a pre-installed, 16GB MicroSD card for a total of 32GB. Why anyone would pay $100 for a 16GB card is beyond me. You can use and MicroSD (SDHC) card in it up to 32GB, and people have even had success with 64GB cards (SDXC), which you can find for under $100.

The RAZR Maxx is exactly the same as the RAZR, but it has a bigger, thicker battery (thus making the phone a bit thicker). It comes with a 16GB card pre-installed (like the "32GB" RAZR).

Hope that clears things up.

I called Verizon and the woman told me the 199 version doesn't have a SD card slot. I'm about 99.9% sure she doesn't know what she's talking about though.

Let's hope she doesn't know what she is talking about. I can't imagine producing a phone without a SD slot...wait a moment, Samsung did.:D

I'm only seeing the black model on the verizon website.. will they be offering the white model for the 16gb version?
