RAZR/ICS Delay

Did anyone else hear about the Razr's not getting ICS in Q2 in the US as planned? I could have sworn I heard it on the news this morning, but I was still half sleep (Adjusting to Day Light Savings) Lol... I think its been delayed for more testing or reviewing?

I am personally happy if they are doing more testing and not rushing it out! I also have an Asus Transformer and we've had ICS for while now, and with it came boot/freezes, battery drains, and other sordid problems. They've just sent out an OTA update today that seems to have fixed most of the problems, although some users have still reported problems. the Maxx works great on Gingerbread, be thankful!

I agree with the above poster. I am happy with how the phone runs and am in no hurry for ics. Nothing is worse then having a great working phone and get a huge update that causes crashes and all kinds of issues. Let them get it right even if its next year until we see it.

It'd be sweet if we had notification bar themes similar to HTC on this build :p That'd be worth waiting for.

I got ICS on my Xoom and it is not as stable as it used to be. My Razr runs fine as is.

Ive got the prime with ICS and I think its fine. I agree with whats been said but isn't weird that ICS acts different on certain devices. Like wouldn't you assume that any dual core running moto blur, touch wiz or Sense would require only 1 version of ICS for each variant. Besides, if you've used ICS, 2.3.6 is actually pretty close shy the wallpaper, fonts, and widgets now being apart of the app drawer.

I just mentioned that I heard it on the news and read it on Appy Geek! My Maxx is running so smooth and I agree most times when they do an OTA update it messes up the phone's performance. I too hope they take as long as they need to run test and perfect ICS before releasing it with a lot of problems.

For the US -RAZR its been delayed. Did you notice USA was not in the "Country" field for Development Phase in Q2? That what I heard on the news. Rollout for ICS will not be in Q2 for US. I hope they take as long as needed to perfect it.

My sentiments exactly on the development stage. They need to make sure it is "flawless" before release. I am believing for the top tier phones though such as the Razr/Maxx, Rezound, Bionic, D4 it will Q3. Tablets and the Nexus have it so it is indeed functional. Just not perfect yet. There are still issues that need resolved.

I didn't really care for ICS during my short week with the Nexus.

The only nice feature was that you could view the notifications while it was still locked.

Happy with Gingerbread.

from experience i don't like major updates
and the same people complaining about how its taking to long to come out will be the same people crying about the bugs
i know with my droid x froyo and gingerbread when they first came out they were a mess
so im not looking forward to ics
and if i could avoid it i wont upgrade till they have all the kinks worked out
one question is there any way to block the ota from getting pushed to your phone?
my phone is fine right now id like to keep it that way

If you were rooted you could.
