Razr Maxx - come with SD card?

I have a Razr Maxx that came with a class 4 16gb card. I tried using a 32gb class 4 card, but it doesn't work quite right. I first bought a cheap generic card on ebay, but thought I just got a bad card. I then bought a Kingston class 4 and it behaves the same way. It works fine if I use it as a flash drive with the sd card adapter. As soon as I try to use it in my phone, files disappear and change. Many end up in the Lost.dir folder. Syncing music seems to be the big issue. I've tried using motocast and wmp, as well as multiple other 3rd party tools. Nothing seems to work. the music will be on the card until I disconnect it from the computer(using "safely remove" option). I now have the 16gb card back in it, which is working fine, but I need more space. If anyone has any ideas, I would greatly appreciate the help. Thank you.
