Yep, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Wasn't like this before the ICS update :(

There may be something specific to that page, as opposed to Flash on ICS. I couldn't view the video but could see the playlist running horizontally below. The video looked like it was hidden above, like a layer issue. It's not a mobile Site, so the coding may be the problem.

But if I went to http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=M3640LR98W8 which is also Flash, I can view it on all my browsers.

So I'm not sure that link is a good test.

...btw, it appears as a mobile site, but by selecting "view site as desktop" in browser settings, it reverts to a desktop site and still doesn't play.

One of the things i always do, is try to play the video when I'm reading news articles that feature them. I can assure you that i had no problem viewing videos prior to the ICS update...just sayin.

I keep hoping that there is a setting that i can find or an update that will fix this problem, but i don't think it's gonna happen.

I have no problem viewing YouTube videos. It's the numerous times that i try to view videos on Yahoo or any other website that has video news stories. For instance, try this:
Cat Snack Makes Baby Laugh - Yahoo!

Yes, another example of the same problem. It's either something yahoo is doing or the fact that it's not a mobile site and another type of coding issue. But not a Flash/ICS issue, which is what the OP was posting about.

I've had it, going to yahoo to view videos, where I get the icon that I need to install Flash - which I already have. If I click on the icon, it takes me to Flash on Play where it tells me it's installed. So I think there's something screwy about Yahoo and videos and they are not a good site to measure if your phone's working correctly as far as using Flash.

Well I'd like to think it's not an ICS issue, but unfortunately, i think it is. I'm not going to post links to every video that i can't watch, but other than YouTube, almost no videos work...including those on other websites as well (ie. AOL, BING, GOOGLE, etc.). If there is another website besides YouTube that wood be good for viewing videos I'd love to know about it?

Again, I've had flash installed the entire time that I've had my phone, and i had routinely watched videos on, not only Yahoo, but other websites as well. I find it too coincidental that the coding may have mysteriously changed when ICS became available. Kinda bummed that i can't watch videos related to some news articles anymore.

Maybe it is related - I haven't watched videos on those other sites.

I know the whole Flash/ICS subject is complicated. For example, Adobe has said "You will need to re-install Flash Player from the Android Market in order to get the binary of Flash Player that is compatible with Android 4.x devices." They have also said "Flash Player for Android is not supported on either chrome, opera, or dolphin hd on Android" but that doesn't means it won't necessarily work, just that if it doesn't they won't support it. Also, I think some browsers are defaulting to HTML5 so maybe they're not even trying to utilize Flash.

Per Motorola's site:

Why did Google/Motorola remove Flash?
Adobe Flash is not removed from the device; however, due to Adobe's discontinuation of Flash development, Flash Player is no longer preloaded and is not available for download from Google Play to your device. Existing installations of Flash Player may or may not play Flash video properly. Alternatively, the new HTML5 standard is on your device and is supported for Web video .
I heard Flash was no longer available, but mine seems to be working
Existing installations of Flash Player may or may not play Flash video properly. This will vary depending on the specific device configuration and on the website.

I purchased this phone because it had flash capability, why was it removed?
Flash has not been removed, it simply will not be supported moving forward, as Adobe is no longer supporting the development of Flash Player for Android 4.0

Is there an alternate application or something I can use in place of flash?
Alternatively, the new HTML5 standard is supported for Web video found on your device. Many sites already support this standard and should be viewable with no additional apps.
While we do not endorse or guarantee these solutions, or provide support for them, some owners have reported success using a 3rd party Android Applications like "Adobe AIR". You can search the Google Play Store for 3rd party applications that are available that may enable you to run the flash video on your device without a browser, providing the convenience of a native app or browser.

What is HTML5?
HTML5 is a new standard for rich web content that is already prevalent and in wide use today.
What about the Apps in Google play, will those that required flash be updated?
Some applications may be impacted, but most developers are working to ensure compatibility. You can check the specific specs for the app you are interested in.

So the bottom line is it's confusing. Sorry it's not working - hope this info is helpful in understanding why.

Its not a website or page issue since they are pages that worked prior to upgrade. It was a nice perk compared to iphone and now its gone :(

Thanks for that in depth analyzes Sally.
Rgary, i agree, it is missed very much and hope it can change in the very near future :/

I have heard many people have problems with the stock gallery app but have had allot of success with the Quick pic app which is free in play store.

since the latest update, my husband, myself, and a co-worker are having problems with the battery. its lasting half the time it did before the update. Is there any way we can get Jelly Bean sooner? Download it from a site? I really hope it fixes the batter problem. An i had issues with viewing my pictures too, never quite figured that out yet
