I just installed SD 4.8 over the weekend and am really enjoying the speed / battery life. The front page shows a default wallpaper with what appears to be 1% battery mod but my install does not have this. I just came over from Maverick and that was one of my favorite features. Any ides?

The picture on front page is sd4.6, sd4.8 as chevycam explained is pretty much vanilla experience, bloatfree

Honestly, its going to be a while. My main focus is on the Galaxy Nexus. I STILL can't get any kexec builds to build properly, so I don't k ow if I'm going to give up on that, or try some more.

ok so i got my phone today. droid 3 xt862 on 5.7.906. i tired to get root via petes motorola root tool v1.06 and i can not get root. gives and error at setp 3. so i tried to SBF to 5.6.890 and its giving me an error at step 6. im going everything correctly and have retried 3 or 4 times. i looked up to see what the error was about and i read something more or less that my phone has been updated to far to SBF.
My question. is their another way to gain root and can i use ss3 on 5.6.906. the roms i wanna use are based off 5.6.906 just to clarify. or could some tell me how i can SBF?????? any help will be thanks! :hail:

Pete's does not work with 906, but Motofail does.

well i SBF back to 5.6.890( Used "CLICK HERE - Flash Verizon DROID 3 OTA 5.6.890 to phone" to do it with) and tried petesmotorola root tool v1.6 and 1.7 and it gives me the same error on both versions

"SEARCHING FOR THE PHONE (connect it now if you haven't yet)... found!
Running exploit step 1 of 3 (setting up symlink)... done!
Rebooting your phone... done!
Running exploit step 2 of 3 (modifying local.prop)... done!
Rebooting your phone... done!
Running exploit step 3 of 3 (adding su, busybox, and superuser.apk)... FAIL!

Try again from the start, but if the problem continues, check your version
of Gingerbread -- hopefully you don't have a version where this exploit
was fixed."
step 1 and 2 work but not 3. motofail has been a fail to.
everything has been downloaded of this forms only!!
i can read directions and use google but this one i can find anything. hoping someone might know.
also i will add that the phone is NOT activated yet, not shore if this would effect it or not. doing this
tomorrow thats kinda why i wanna be rooted so i can start flashing roms

If your phone had 906 on it, you cannot SBF back to 890. The best way to SBF is with Overlayer's one-click, here: [xt862] .906 1-click-sbf.exe + tools [10-8-2012] - xda-developers

But, really - if you had stock 906, there was no reason to SBF to anything. Just root with Motofail. You only need to SBF if you already rooted the phone and deleted some stock apps, or installed another custom ROM.
