[ROM] [RELEASE] Steel Droid: 5.6 - Ice Cream Sandwich - 6-8-2012

I just installed the zip from ricks #2 safestrap 1.08f except i boot up back to the stock rom i was running before.

Its probably a simple error but could someone please help me get steel droid 5.2 running on my droid 3 thanks

How often will you be syncing with AOKP and releasing?

I literally sync just about every day! lol Sometimes every hour.....seriously. Build 34 is officially out from AOKP now, and I just made a build based on it, but its not ready for a Steel Droid release yet. Still working on this one. If Im going to release a new version, I want there to be a decent amount of USEFUL changes in it, not just fixes that you wouldnt notice unless you read the changelog.

Honestly, I would go back to 1.08e. 1.08f has been having some SD card mounting issues, and a couple other minor bugs. 1.08e works just fine, and allows you to flash from either Safe Mode or Non-Safe Mode.

Try this.

Wipe (factory reset)
Reboot (straight back into recovery)
Wipe (factory reset)
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Flash ROM
Wipe Battery Stats
Reboot (normally)

I know it sounds like a lot of work, but I have fixed a few install issues by doing it that way. Not sure why that method works, and others dont, but it works for me. :icon_ lala:

Im going to start working on v4.7. It will actually be based off of the 5.7.906 leak. buckmarble was kind enough to give me some pointers on what to do to keep my notification toggle widgets in tact. It may be a week or so, maybe more before v4.7 is ready, as I have a TON of other projects that are being worked on at the same time. Yes, one of them in BlackICS theme for the D3. :icon_ lala:

I will post up some screenshots of its current progress when I get something together and flashed again.

I've done this too many times and every time I get back to just a rooted stock rom

I followed the instructions of wiping, reboot, wiping, then install but it wont work

Can anyone give me some help as to what im doing wrong and why it wont install

Is it just taking a long time to get a signal lock, or is it dropping out from time to time?

Sorrry i thought i replied to this, weird.

It takes a while to connect, and then once it is connected the signal is weak. (drops signal completely, or has trouble tracking my location in a car)

Sorry about that guys. I forgot to update this thread. I posted up v5.3. 2 days late, but its up. :icon_ lala:

Hey guys I'm a bit freaked out I was going to go update to v5.3 Steel Droid and I SBF'ed my phone and it stuck into bootloop and I tried it one more time to see if it would fix it and it still is stuck. Anyone can please help me out?? Hope this phone isn't bricked completely.

I tried again a 3rd time just now and it still is doing it. I'm really freaking out about this and appreciate if anyone can help me with this problem. Thanks in advance.

I amost bricked my phone with this zip. I got it to work after starting from stratch using the factory reset from this.

Flash+Verizon+DROID+3+OTA+5.6.890+to+phone_psouza4 - MinusThis is not my file I just found it on forums it worked out great when I couldnt get anything else. All you need to do is get to AM flashboot menu have it say battery ok and connected to usb and the file should take u back to stock droid 3, then root and download this update because i have it now and it really rocks.

LOVE ICS

You need to clear cache in stock recovery and it will stop bootlooping. Dont ask why, it just happens. Lol
