[ROM] [RELEASE] Steel Droid: 5.6 - Ice Cream Sandwich - 6-8-2012

I haven't been able to get the SBF to work. It keeps failing when I do the RSlite thing.

RSDLite may require multiple attempts. I've done it a few times and I never took the 1st try, always ended up working the 5th or 7th time.

Also, I'd highly suggest trying overlayer's exe version, he posted in the Steel Droid 4.6 Thread and his SBF method is located in his signature.

Has anyone had an issue with running the Adobe Flash player on this ROM? For some reason, I can't get Flash to run in a web browser. No one seems to have mentioned it not working, and this used to work on the Gingerbread version of the ROM. Thanks!

Aghh! So i'm pretty sure i jacked up my gps and keyboard. How do i manually replace the files these things use from the original rom/this one?

Just flash the ROM over itself, no wiping. That will put em back, but will overwrite any mods you may have made

or....

just use 7zip to grab the files from the ROM and then push them using something like Root Explorer. (Don't forget to set permissions)

My gps sucks at getting passed the "getting location" phase, so i tried some ****ty app to fix it. it didnt. I'll reflash and give that a shot!

So i've been running the new rom for a couple days now, but I have some issues with it.
1. THE BATTERYYYYY. So I use my phone for work and its gone down significantly. If I have my phone on with the internet.... It'll die in about 6 hours. I had gps, bluetooth and data enable, used navigation maybe 50 minutes and within 4 hours I had to turn my phone off to save battery and turn it back on when I needed it for gps.
2. My phone is constantly hot, its really hot in my pocket and I can always feel it right there. I feel like it's burning my leg a couple of times and I end up needing to take it out to set it elsewhere.
Those are the two main things that I really wish were different as the other things are too small to care about.

I have had the battery issue and I definately need my phone alive all day...its really killed my battery with the overclock...but I changed the governor to ondemand and it seems to have helped a bit I couldn't give you an uptime count but its been almost all day and I have 20% with some heavy use

If you guys want, I would suggest downgrading to v5.5 w/out the Overclock and see if you battery issues persist. Some phones unfortunately just don't respond well the the OC script.

Also, are you all using the Stock Battery, or the Extended one?

mine is the extended and i was running v5.5 and was getting amazing battery but i think im ok with this atm it seems to not be so bad right now since i switched the governor...

mmkay thats good! :D I'll flash back to v5.6 to see if I run into any similar issues and see if I can help ya guys out at all. :) Hopefully it was just your phone getting used to the new clock-speed and battery cycle

Well normally I give it about a week to figure out what's going on but the oc still killed it..also I've never been able to run my phone down all the way I'm always busy on it but like I said...when I switched the gov it seems to be a lot better I just wasn't sure which one to try and "ondemand" sounded like wat I need lol

I run the stock battery and mine just gets owned by the overclocking lol.
Newb question, what is the governor as I am curious on how I can change it so that I can have better battery life.

As for switching to 5.5, I have run 5.5 and I might switch back soon on the account of the battery life, and the fact that my normal camera worked on 5.5. On 5.6 it isn't working for me =/

The governor is something that can control the speed of the cpu or the clock and I'm hoping the ondemand setting is wat I think it is and only boosts when its needed...

To get to it go to settings>rom control>performance>scaling governor

The default I think it is set to hotplug

Hope that helps a little...there's a bunch of different governors I think about 6 total...boostedass seems like it wants to keep it as high as possible so thhe only one that sounded good to me was the ondemand one and I learned that you have to check "set at boot" or it won't hold

I've tried downloading from your dev-host site, and the dl's hang. Does anyone have a mirror dl or can someone send me the file?
