While texting in landscape mode, stock sms, there is a terrible red ring around the message box. It's not present in portrait. Is it supposed to be like that?

I haven't been able to replicate this.

For right now because its Sense 3.0. I will most likely do the 2.0 version in blue too though but it'll probably be a bit.

Yes, red was the only version I did for 2.0. I never planned on doing another color but Slim kept requesting one so I made one for GB because that's what we were on.
