Remix Tablet: Kickstarter with a twist

People have started receiving them. They started shipping with the highest level backers first. Sounds fair to me. Mine should ship on Monday. Would've gone out this week, but they apparently ran out of the Silver ones at their logistics company, so they had to send them more to ship out.

Got my tracking number while I was sleeping last night. Says it should be delivered by the end of the week, but it's already in Ohio, so I'm hoping it comes a bit sooner. That's not far from me. 2 days tops, depending on sorting speed/etc. They're saying Friday. Hope it's early.

Update: it says customs status updated in Ohio, so it may not actually be there yet?

Tracking has gone dark. Around noon today, DHL "Forwarded for delivery". They don't deliver here, so I'm assuming they handed it off to USPS. I think that's happened to me once before.

Would be nice if they provided a USPS tracking number on the status for DHL.

Yeah, that's likely what happened as DHL doesn't deliver anywhere in the US anymore. Hopefully you'll get it by the wknd. [emoji106]

DHL said it should be delivered by end of day Friday. Got a busy weekend though, so I might not get to even power it up until Sunday evening if it does come too late.

Running system updates now!

First post from the Remix! Keyboard is quite nice to type on. I've actually got it on my lap right the kickstand in the furthest position so I can see the screen.

Can't guarantee just how much time I'll have to test it out until after the weekend, but I'll try to update. Little bit of lag when really going to town typing. The word "update" there had a bit of lag and the next word ran into it. Not too bad at all though for typing. Keys are nice and clicky and feel very responsive.

There were complaints from some of the first few who got their's about some serious issues with the keyboard, but they issued an update quick enough.

Looking forward to using this device. I'm going to attempt to force myself to pull it out instead of surfing/etc on my phone after work and such. Use it as my main device.

It's kinda weird having a "felt" feel to the trackpad, but it works quite well. Scrolling in their native browser is smooth and quick. It's got the "swipe up" with 2 fingers to go down adn vice versa, which my work computer has. My home laptop is swipe down to go down. At least I've got some experience with that functionality.

Well worth the $60 at this point. Now, to get to downloading my apps. I do know from the Facebook group that there's an issue with paid apps not registering as paid on the device and having to use the web version of the Play Store to load those for the first time. Fix is set to be incoming.

Lollipop update (Remix version 1.5) is set to start beta roll-out in China within the month and international beta around June. They state they're looking for about 20 users when they get to the international roll out. not sure yet if I have the guts for UBER-Beta testing this thing based on issues I've seen reported so far, but we'll see how I feel after having the device and using it for a month or so.

So far so good. I've done a lot of typing here and elsewhere with it so far. I really do like the keyboard.

A nice keyboard, you say. So much hate... ;)
I've thought of you every time I typed how nice this keyboard seems. The cover is very thing, so it's got a bit of a strange feeling on my glass coffee table. Almost like I'm pressing the keys right down onto the table. But I like it.
