"restricted number" in caller id, does not show in phone history?

Occassionally I get a call that shows "restricted number" in the caller id field on the phone. Usually, I don't answer such calls. Later, when I looked at the call history, I noticed that these calls do not show up in the call history. Normally, unanswered calls will show up, but not if the number is "restricted"?

it will show up if you click "view - call history." for some reason when you hit the "phone" button and think you're looking at the "call history" you're not actually seeing the whole history.

Is there a way to change that? I have a friend who blocks his number but i know it's him if i get a call from an unknown number.

disguise your voice and pretend you are getting beat up or something.
