Ring Tone / Notification

Samsung Galaxy S3 ... Problem is How to Turn on the Ring Tone to Notify one of an Incoming Text Message ?? Go to Settings and all we get is prompts to turn Notification volume up to as high as #7.. Nothing Else ??? Help Appreciated.. Thanks...

Go into the stock messaging app...Then settings. There should be an option in there to enable this.
