You can always try it, but when I didn't wipe going from 0.3.8 to 0.4.2, I had a lot of issues. Kejar also recommends a clean flash every time.

I tried this when I went from 3.8 to 4.8 and lost my gapps. Did I do something wrong? I ended up wiping everything and did a fresh install.

Sbenson, I messed up on my first initial install of 3.8 and ended up reflashing the rom. I didn't wipe or anything and didn't not have gapps installed after rom reflash. I ended up having to reflash gapps to get them back. All has been well since then.

Edit: I too was getting ready to flash 4.8

It's ok to flash w/o wipe from build to build of Gummy as long as you flash the latest gapps right after flashing ROM before reboot.

Not yet i jsut flashed the newest one and it doesn't contain 1... i don't think any gnex rom has one of those yet

Thanks for the reply. Well that sucks! Guess I will wait to flash a custom ROM then at this point. Many other advantages but this is something I use and won't do without :biggrin:
