[ROM] [ROM] Droid Concepts Froyo Releases [BETA versions]

This is what I did for new market. Using root explorer, I renamed the old vending to vending.bak(just incase the new one didn't work), pasted the new vending.apk(renamed to this) into the system/app folder and reset the proper permissions, reboot and it was all ready to go. Works like a charm.

This worked perfectly. Thank you.

I tried to do this with Ghost. Commander and it didn't work. What exactly does reset the proper permissions mean? I assume this is different than " Fix Permissions ".

If you open the permissions on any of the other apps in that folder you can see which ones to enable for vending.

Wow...I had sworn off Froyo for a while now(6 months) as Gingerbread had been treating me well.

I got a little bored with the PE 6 beta and decided to try out some other options like Pete's ROM and Liquid...wasn't impressed.

Then I said, what the hell, I'll try this FroYo ROM.

Hot Damn!! This is great!!!

Keep up the good work fellas!

Stock Theme

I'm trying this ROM after months of frustration with GB. I'm wondering if there is a stock theme available for it? I kind of like multi-colored icons. :)

Not yet. Once it goes "stable," I'm sure someone will probably cook something up. Although, if you LIKE multi-colored icons, I'm not sure why you want stock over the DC base theme. If you meant you DON'T LIKE them, try the B&W below.

In the mean time, give one of these great themes below a shot, you might find something you like:

I was able to load up the new market with no issues...until I went to my apps. I have an update available, but no update button. I have tried to long press on it, bring up the menu, etc. No idea other than uninstall/reinstall to get the update. Anyone have something like this happen?

i'm still having the issue of not being able to install any apps. it must have something to do with my phone, and not the rom, as i tried to flash a different froyo rom and the same thing happened. i'm looking for any suggestions i can get...

i'm on a replacement phone, and when i rooted this new one, i went straight to a gb rom, and have been using them ever since. but, like many others, i'm getting tired of the little issues with gb on the OG, and want to go back to froyo.

here's what i've tried: i've wiped 3x, 5x, and even 10x before install. i install the rom and gapps, and then boot. i sign in and go to the market so i can dl TiBu, and restore all of my apps. however, TiBu won't install, and neither will any other apps. it will show as being 100% dl'd, and "installing", but it will never actually install. for my paid apps that show up as being "purchased", when i click the install button, it will give me the typical "OK" button to press to accept permissions. however, when i push the OK button, nothing happens - the app doesn't even start to dl. again, this happened on both DC and PE 4.2.

not sure what the issue is. i reflashed a gb rom, and everything worked fine. so, i'm open to suggestions.... thanks!

When you wiped, did you wipe the android-secure? This occasionally causes a problem between roms. Especially going backward from GB. Wipe it all before flashing. Android-secure, cache, dalvik cache, system, boot, data. Some where I read wiping the cache ONLY after flash helps, but haven't tried it. Worth a try....... also delete the sdcard/android folder and see if the helps.

Something similar is happening to me as well. After I first installed the new Market I had an app update available and was able to update it just like with the old Market without any problem. I read your post and went back to My Apps and have another app with an update available but there isn't the option to update this app. When I checked the version of the update for the app and the version that is on my phone they are the same. Could this be some sort of sync issue and there really isn't an updated app available?

I went back into the market and the update button appeared, no idea how/why anything changed on it but its working now.

Not sure I like it that much, I might be going back to the old one. I have no use for google books, and you can't rent movies on a rooted phone.

I was able to update my app too. Think I will stick with it for a while and see how things go.

So I. Backed down to build 10 a little while ago, build 11 was becoming extremely sluggish with everything, apps, messaging and lots of FC's. My issue though has been across all the builds, when I delete a text message thread it just puts a blank message dated something 1969 in the bottom and it is immune to deletion. Anyone else having the issue? Love the DC build regardless of the few bugs! Great work guys!

I've used stock, Chevy, P3, and Deprimed kernels. They all run pretty much the same for me. Anyone using something else or have another suggestion?
