[ROM] GummyJAR - Stripped down and geared towards SPEED!!!! - release 1.0 - 12/08

Hey Kejar31, your ROM rocks! Battery life and speed are insane...also love the animations you chose for the transitions. Also, I'm glad to see Moto's slightly modified stock browser replaced with a completely AOSP version - definitely shows in the increased smoothness. I just have one question concerning the browser. Is there anyway to get rid of the zoom buttons in the lower right corner? I already tried "about: debug" and looking through the developer settings...nothing. Just wondering - only a minor annoyance that has nothing to do with your ROM. It's Google's fault for implementing pinch-zoom and keeping the on-screen zoom controls. :)

(And to anybody else who's going to say "download a different browser" - I know. Sadly, that doesn't answer my question.)

I kind of figured. Not a big deal. Anyway, didn't mean to take away from the brilliance of your ROM. It really is the best.

Haha, I wish that would change the code too so they didn't continue to trigger when I pressed in that space.

Just curious as to how everyones battery life is on 1.9.1

Been off the charger for 11 hours 26 mins and I'm at 70% which is amazing. That with medium to heavy use. Surfing the web, viewing forums, and 43 mins of total talk time. Thats with the extended battery but it gives you an idea and the extended isn't that much bigger than the stock one.

This app is the coolest!

My list so far.

1.Apex
2.GummyJar.
3. ummm and more to come....

Awesome transitions in all.! Thumbs up DEV.!
Will buy you a beer for sure. haha

Im sorry to keep harping on this but its not just the rom...its the internet, downloads and set up screens that are just blazing. Its like going from dial-up to dsl. Every aspect of the phone has sped up...unbelievable. ok I think im finally done...anyone reading this thread needs to realize how fast this rom really is.

Hi Tatuud,

Any hard data on that? I realize that speeds can be affected by smoothness of transitions, animations, etc., and that it can be a functional or qualitative experience of the ROM- but it would be interesting to know how it compares in terms of some benchmarks with similiar stock clock or overclock/underclock at equal voltages with say, GummyJar and TranQ setup on the same phone for comparison, that way we'd know where the perceived speed was coming from- I hope that makes some sense ;-)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a naysayer, just looking for the things that make a phone functional and fasssst dancedroid

Cheers!

I'm getting between 1510-1570 with no overclock just stock. Dunno how that compares with other roms right now. I do know that's its faster and smoother than any other rom right now and when it comes down to it thats all that matters. I remember when rubiX was scoring 900s with quadrant and was still fast. Quadrants just a number.

I had this ROM installed for about a half hour yesterday and would like to give it another shot. The problem I had is that all my market apps wouldn't load or even show in the downloads page - just some, but not all, of my paid apps. I have a really slick configuration of Launcher Pro and Smart shortcuts to quickly access any app, contact, or bookmark I'm likely to use. Does anyone know of a way to trick the Market into loading all my apps like it does after most ROM changes? Also, would it be possible for to install the blur alarm clock on this or are they incompatible?

Ugh, I'm on a D2, but the issue should be addressed the same. I accidently posted here while searching for an answer. Doh!
