ROM Poll (kind of)

CROM has always been my favorite (even before it had a cool name ;-) ) It seems to run so much smoother than anything else. The GB release wasn't as stable as some of the others so i'm rocking SS 5.0 atm

CROM? whats that?

Formerly charity smoked glass. Idk who the dev is but the C stands for charity because all of the donations people send him go to a charity of his choosing

So I have been using MIUI for my daily driver for the last month. I have been keeping up with the updates and I really am liking this ROM. I like how you can change the "feel" of it. You can make it look like an (cough)iphone(cough) sort of , or an Android. It has more features in the pull down bar than CM, but maybe too many? Still not a GB ROM though but does that really matter? What is GB giving me?
I still bounce back to CyanogenMod 7 nightlies to see how it is doing though. I just love all of the features of MIUI but CM7 is a close second as is CM6. CM7 is still a little laggy on my phone, but I think they are almost there. Could it be ADW slowing things down?? If so, too bad because I like ADW.
I just installed Steel Droid 4.0 GB right now. I'll give it a chance but as of now I am un-impressed. I miss the pull down bar options like in MIUI and CM. It makes things simple. So far that seems to be the only thing I miss. I have had a few FC's already. I'm still playing with it, maybe it will grow on me.

This is a silly poll, having to write stuf?? Manually counting? Do you LIKE more work?

That said: Bugless Beast - best custom options, no having to install google tools separately like CM, works fast...

I made this poll so that people wouldn't just mark a bubble and leave; i wanted people to write WHY they like it. this will help new people see what other people like about each rom. and yes i am up to the work nessisary, it is honestly not that hard.

MIUI so far

I flashed to MIUI the other day from CM6. I tried BugBea before that as well as Chevy and SteelDroid, all with multiple combinations of Kernels.

MIUI has by a decent margin been the fastest, smoothest and most stable in respect to everything working all/most of the time. The current rom release with the Slayher1200 kernel allows me to fully customize my UI as I want with transition effects in place and still not have to worry about going through and opening too many apps in a row. Everything seems to be handled beautifully.

I'm not even going to start on the customization options or the look and feel. You can just about have whatever visual style you want, as has already been stated. I will link my post from the What does your MIUI look like thread, though.

I'm not 100% sold for permanent replacement due to small nuances with gallery/music/camera replacements, but I do have faith the bugs are getting worked out and if not, they are merely annoyances, not hinderances.

Bugless! I have tried them all and always go back to this one.

donzz, What is it you really like about Bugless? I installed it this AM and am playing with it. I think I still like MIUI and CM better, but maybe I am missing something and not taking advantage of something it offers. I'll play for another day or two to check it out. It is running smoother so far than CM7 but not as feature rich as CM7 or MIUI.... that I can tell anyway. What am I missing?

Project Elite 4.2 Froyo with Gingerbread parts. Runs more stable at default 1.1 GHZ than any other roms I have ever tried ran at 800MHZ. Smooth, fast, stable. What more could you ever want?

Also would like to point out

(continued from here)

I wanted to also state that after a reboot, I started Pandora (HQ playback through Wifi with screen sleep off so I can rate music). The wife sent me approximately 15 SMS; half of which were answered using the popup and the other half the Messaging app. I also jumped online while smoking(5-7min) during which time Pandora was paused. I resumed Pandora and all total since3 reboot have listened to it for a little over 3 hours.

I have not charged since the reboot and my battery life is sitting at 80%.

Bugless 6.2.1 Unbelievable battery life, Rom toolkit for performance and runs 1250 kernal with no heat or battery problems. Truly bugless.
