I've noticed a problem with the lockscreen & slide to unlock.
I have a PIN set up, but when I tap the power button to wake the phone, it briefly flashes the PIN entry screen and goes right to my home screen (i.e., not requiring a slide to unlock). In a nutshell, the phone is completely awake and ready to pocketdial the moment I tap the power button.

It seems like this started once I set up the PIN. I haven't installed any new apps, nor do I use any lockscreen replacements, etc. Interestingly, the PIN "works" and is only required for the first unlock after a reboot, or after the 20 minute lock period I've selected kicks in. But from then on, it just bypasses the lockscreen/PIN completely.

Anybody experience this or have any recommended fixes?

(And a BIG thanks for putting this ROM together. Really liking it so far. Fast, polished, and light on the battery.)

I second this. After you set any type of security (pattern, pin, or password), the slide screen fails to show. The only way to get it to even work halfway is if you set the security timeout to "When display is off." That obviously requires you to enter your pin every time you lock your screen.

The only fix is to turn off the security completely (i.e. no pattern, pin, or password). This is sort of a big deal for those of us who have prying eyes living in the same house as us.

Other than that, this rom is a nice step up from Fission. Fission was a great rom already, but Hexen took it to the extreme. It's fast and nearly bugless. Thanks for supporting us D2G users, because I'm pretty sure most of us were tired of waiting for a better rom. :D

Oh! I forgot, keolawills, I would also like an upload! :)

Thats how AOSP is. Try CM and it does the same thing. The unlock and go to slider screen is all blur and this rom is completely blur free where it can be which means that went also. Its not like its hard to do a quick pattern with a finger in the same amount of time it takes to slide the slider across....

Ah, okay, sorry for my ignorance. I just like to have the slider so that when someone else wants to use my phone, they don't have to use the pattern. Fission had both the slider and the lock, so I didn't realize it was Blur. Is it at all possible to get this feature back? I don't mind not having it too much, but it's a nice plus.

Thanks for clarifying. :)

I flashed my stormshadow theme for angel over hexen and got the slider lock screen back.

Okay. I have been lurking around and rading up on the latest roms for the d2g and I am CONSIDERING trying this one until a clean, blur free version of GB is available. I just have a couple qustions and will not mess with it until I get sure fire answer.

1. Since it has been a while and I have recently sbf'd back to stock and have reset all of my apps, will I still have to wype data and factory reset? Or can I just root and install?

2. I don't use a security lock so will the slider still be disabled?

3. Are there any other bugs that I should be aware of?

4. Will all of my contacts and social apps still sync properly?

I am sorry if these questions have been asked and answered but there are a lot of posts and I just don't have a lot of time to search lately since I started my new job. Thanks in advance. Depending the answers, I may still wait till custom GBs are available because I am getting tired of having to restart my games and reconfigure my phone.

@ true. To answer your questions. If you are pure stock you will root, use droid 2 bootstaper to access clockwork. Wipe data/ cache then install zip from sd card.
The heXen lockscreen is just like
The stock one only much smoother. Not clichy at all.
I have not experianced any bugs myself. Hexen is the smoothest rom of all ( fenom, angel, fission) in my honest opinion.
As far as contacts I placed all of mine on my sim and loaded them from there. But my google account usually does it for me. I Don't use any social apps.
Hexen is a great, stable everyday rom.

To answer the question about social contacts syncing, it works fine. Facebook, Twitter, and Gmail contacts sync perfectly for me. The only difference you may encounter is that in order to link two or more contacts, you have to go to a contact -> menu -> edit -> menu -> join. You shouldn't have any problems with it.

Also, you don't have to restart your games if you use Titanium Backup. It'll back up your apps and your data, meaning your game saves as well. Just make sure it backs up all of your apps, because I've had a few issues with it not backing up everything.
