[ROM] The Eagle Has Landed!!!! - Liberty 1.0 1/11/11

Is there anyway to change the skin of the screen you see when you are making a call? I'm not talking about the numbers but the part on top of the contact picture you see that says "Liquid". It's kinda hideous and doesn't go along with the theme I have.

I have no idea what you are talking about.

lol okay let me explain it better. You know the screen you see when you are making a call? Mine says Liquid up at the top. I dont know why.

Sounds like you have a theme installed on the phone already. When the phone.apk is themed though, it usually means you need to load a new apk file to change it. I could be wrong though. I know that I do not see this behavior.

yeah i think you could be right because I had the watermark theme on my phone before and i switched to black juice. how do i get rid of that?

You could do the following:
1) Reboot in to recovery
2) Re-install the Liberty ROM without wiping data, wiping cache might be a good idea too
3) Reboot the phone
4) Boot in to recovery
5) Reinstall the Black Juice theme

This should reinstall all the system files that may have been changed by the watermark theme.

So I should bootstrap to clockwork to do this right? So I have to uninstall the rom somehow or can I just flash the rom over my current one?

Yup, bootstrap recovery. You do not need to uninstall or wipe anything other than cache. Just install from the zip file right over what you have now.

Hopefully my advice doesn't break your phone. :-p

Has this been done before?

Has what been done before? Installing a ROM over top? :) You bet.

Some additional info:
The ROM actually wipes out the old installation before it installs.. so it'll be clean.

The reason you were having that problem in the first place, is because one theme you installed (liquid, I assume) replaced some applications (as in, phone.apk) that the other theme you installed didn't include...

This is totally common. Some themes only replace a few files, some replace dozens... :P In between, it's very common to reinstall the ROM to "remove the theme" by going back to stock to start fresh..
HTH!
