DM Updater isn't currently working but I think I got to the bottom of it. It is a FRG22D issue, as outlined here ..How to: Root Motorola DROID Running Android 2.2 FRG22D - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog. There are a few ways to handle this mess, one actually originating from these forums. Anyway, seems like these are my paths of action.

This is the "one actually originating from these forums" I mentioned. I am going to try this. I originally tried this method but had trouble with the Motorola drivers for some reason.
