They can still put in preventions keeping people from doing so...

That only means they can't sue you for JB/rooting a device. There is still nothing stopping the manufacturers from putting measures in place to hinder you doing so.

no where in my post did I say that. I was simply stating the fact that you can't get in trouble. With Linux such an open operating system with such emphasis on being open and Android being a direct linux cousin, I can see where companies would allow this to happen. Not saying it would, everyone should just step back and relax.
