Rooting...having a tough go...

I am rooting through SBrecovery, I have done it on my phone without any issues, I am trying on my brothers, I have used this method: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-labs/74028-root-droid-1-regardless-os-version.html and I keep getting force closes when I restart the phone, I have flashed the FRG22D.sbf back and attempt to go through it again with the same results...I am 100% lost

Are you trying to install a ROM or what? Or is this just a mess of FC issues after a simple root?
