[Rumor] Motorola Google X Phone to be a 'Game Changer'; Launching May & Coming July

Ahh figured it out. They are going to have top of the wall hardware and software loaded with google and verizon apps and locked down along with a 5 mp camera. The ads and bloatware will help pay for it while the cheap camera will keep the cost down. Now you have a $199 device.

I know you Motorola fans are fuming about my comments. Calm down it is said in fun. I hope Motorola does get back to prominence. When I had my droid I imagined Motorola being where Samsung is at now. Motorola should have been the king of android but somewhere they lost focus and Samsung took the crown. Motorola have to go where Samsung has went and be willing to innovate and bring top notch software. If you give us an awesome device we will be willing to pay for it. People are tired of spending their hard earned only to get hardware from the year before. To see Samsung put out quad core phones with 2 gigs of ram while motorola is still on dual core 1 gig of ram is just disheartening. Motorola needs to step it up. Give people a phone that has one of the best cameras, battery life, and software available and they will flock to buy or you can keep taking short cuts and watch your fans go somewhere else. Every time Motorola has had the eyes of the fans they dropped the ball. People were waiting for the bionic only to get done dirty by seeing a razr with a better screen released later. People buy the razr only to find out that a maxx with a better battery get released afterwards. We flock waiting for the razr maxx hd only to see delay after delay and have the note 2 have just as good of battery life with a better screen, better software, better camera, and more ram. To me it seems like Samsung tries to put out the best of the year while Motorola has been trying to stay on par. Hopefully the motorola X truly live up to the hype and give people the best and not playing for par.

+1 ... I've been saying it for the longest but there's so many fan boys backing moto on here lol... I still would've got the droid1.. my dx was just a temp replacement for the broken d1 but I easily would've took the S2 over the bionic and it came out months earlier.. keeps getting updated and way earlier... and now that the s3 and note 2 came out on all carriers we see that they're ahead of the times and motos just clinging along.. repeatedly putting out a refreshed version.. I already know Samsungs next phone will be great.. I don't need them to tell me that... don't have that trust in moto

Remember Jha is gone and Samsung is no where in sight. Samsung figured out the obvious winning formula that was blatantly obvious to most of us; build a high end smartphone with cutting edge hardware, brand it and don't release another handset that can best it months later. Googorola cannot release a smartphone that is competitive, no, they have to release one that raises the bar so high that the manufacturers will be playing catch-up for years. The X phone has to be that good otherwise they will end up an also ran. The buzz in May must be so crazy that it grabs everyone's attention.

Motorola has our attention time will tell. Because apple has fell from grace (though they still have their fans), Samsung has the pressure to improve on the s3, and HTC is still falling. Motorola has the opportunity to really lay a haymaker and stun fans but if they slip before laying the punch they will miss and get knocked out.

catch up for years? with this one phone? at the level that phone technology is going.. you'll be lucky not to feel obsolete after a year... if not by another company than by your own... which moto has done time and time again

I was one who waited for the razr maxx hd and though it was a nice phone I was like ok. I waited for the note 2 and haven't looked back. Yes the razr maxx has awesome battery life and it the build quality feels industrial but I can compensate for the plastic feel of the note by putting a case on it. I can not compensate for the lack of ram on the maxx hd. I swore of Samsung after buying a nexus... well the note 2 made me almost forget about the issues I had with my nexus.

i always thought the nexus and the charge were out of their comfort zone so I didn't penalize them for it.. I look at their niche w the galaxy line.. notes included

I think I'll hang on to my upgrade for the time being... at least until May when these rumors look more like facts DancingNexusDancingNexus

Here is my take on it, until I see it, they can say anything they want, and if it has no micro SD card slot and non removable battery, they can keep it.

I hope this is another Original Droid moment. That phone made me fall in love with Android.

If it becomes a droid-line then vzw will call all shots, where as a phone like a s3 or note 2 that other carriers have vzw will be limited on what they can limit being other customers on a different carrier will be able to help vzw customers distinguish the difference. Though I would not be surprised if the vzw version did become a droid-line and the device was changed cosmetically to have more red and black with vzw branding all over the device. By the way just because vzw can not put a vzw logo on the home button will not prevent them from putting a vzw branded wall paper on the phone.
