Verizon just released these support docs about the Gingerbread update for the Samsung Droid Charge. The update should be rolling out very soon, or at least these docs would indirectly indicate that. Usually we see an update come out within a couple of weeks of the release of these docs. This update is actually pretty massive and includes a whole lot more than just Gingerbread. Here's a breakdown:
  • New Download Manager
  • Enhanced App and Power Management details
  • Improved word selection and copy functionality
  • New UI
  • Added security
  • Updated Calendar Option
  • "Pause," "Wait," and "Password" have been added into the Voicemail speed dial
  • Messaging signature added
  • Hotspot WLAN password is now encrypted
  • Display email attachments from Outlook email
  • Software Upgrade Assistant has been added
  • The volume of the Low Battery Notification has been reduced
Droid Charge owners can begin the antsy dance now... it shouldn't be long now. dancedroid

Good, my wife will be happy to hear this. Gingerbread definitely made my droid2 feel snappier and less buggy.
